Selenium by Thorne Research provides 200 mcg of selenium bound to the amino acid methionine. Selenomethionine is a well-absorbed form of selenium. Studies supports that this Thorne product can be beneficial in multiple situations, including support for oncology patients and healthy thyroid function.* 

 

The role is Selenium is not restricted to its antioxidant function; it is also essential for change of the thyroid hormone T4 (thyroxine) to active T3 (triiodothyronine).  Multiple studies have found that a normal serum selenium level can be linked to support of normal cell function and differentiation, as well as connective tissue, healthy heart, liver, eye, and thyroid function. Selenium intake may also provide protection against cadmium, mercury, and other heavy metal toxicities.*
