L-Glutamine is a dietary supplement from Biotics Research. L-Glutamine is the most prevalent amino acid in the human body. While the body releases glutamine during times of extreme stress (such as after very heavy exercise or an injury), there are some circumstances when the body may need more glutamine than it can create. Most glutamine is found within the muscles, then the lungs, where much of the glutamine is created. In addition it assists in immune system functions, and seems to be required for normal digestion and brain function. Glutamine aids in protecting the gastrointestinal mucosa, and is the main energy resource for enterocytes. It helps support tissues in the body that rapidly produce, such as intestinal epithelium (intestinal cells). Substantial amounts of cortisol during times of stress can decrease the body s storage of glutamine.*
Dosage:
Biotics Research recommends one (1) L-Glutamine capsule one (1) to three (3) times daily as a dietary supplement or as otherwise directed by a healthcare professional.
